About this Destination
Gili Trawangan — universally known as 'Gili T' — is the largest and most visited of the three Gili Islands off Lombok's northwest coast. A car-free island of white sand and swaying palms in waters of impossible turquoise, Gili T has earned its reputation as one of Southeast Asia's most beloved tropical destinations.
The island buzzes with a young, international energy: beach bars, dive centres, and restaurants line the western shore, while the eastern and northern coasts offer quieter stretches and excellent snorkelling. Most visitors come for the diving — the Gilis are considered one of the best beginner and intermediate dive destinations in Asia, with large sea turtle populations and reliable visibility year-round.
